To where in the world should I move?

I recently won a lottery and have decided to move away from where I am currently living (northern canada).
I am 25 years old, single, have 2 big dogs, and i would like an acreage, or at least a house with a huge yard.

i have a masters degree and I'm very liberal (by American standards) but I'm no bleeding heart. I'm pretty down to earth but i enjoy the company of people who are educated as well.

i'd rather be away from the city than right in it, but i don't want to live anywhere too remote. (more than 30 min drive to a city is too far). my dogs and I need the space.

I love the outdoors - camping, trail running & hiking, fishing, exploring - all of these things are important to me… much more important than proximity to starbucks or 5th avenue.

with all that in mind, evaluate my short list and give some more suggestions if you like.

-nicoya peninsula, Costa rica (Montezuma probably)
-kelowna, BC, Canada
-Kalispell, MT
-Seattle/surrounding area
-humboldt county, CA
-Boulder, CO?

West Virginia is the world's best kept secret. they have everything you want and more. They have riverafting, camping, skiing, hiking, beautiful waterfalls and scenery as well as friendly and calm people. Crime is very low here and it is a good place to raise a family if that is something you are thiking about. The area surrounding southerm WV has beautiful scenery, whitewater rafting etc. the state capital (Charleston) is very properous and you could find a job there. I would check into West Virginia, you may be very suprised, but i love it here, and would never go anyplace else. It looks as beautiful as Ireland, and when the seasons change, it is the greatest. Plus, no earthquakes, tornoados or hurricanes here. Land in WV is A LOT cheaper than the other places, and you get a really great deal. plus it is very discrete and you could get away from everything. If you are single and looking for someone, people here are very friendly, and dow-to-earth. they are not pretentuous or snobby.
