Are these the right specs for a gaming computer?

I am building a gaming computer to last and I am wondering if all these stuff are compatible with one another. Also I am considering downgrading the processor to an AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+, but is it compatible with the motheboard? Is 8GB of memory too much? Do I really need to CrossfireX two Radeon HD 4850’s or would it be better idea to just crossfirex two 3870’s? Do I need a sound card? The computer will act as a television.

I am not really interested in intel and nvidia because they are too expensive, believe it or not all this is on a budget.

Everything is compatible with each other. I would get the AMD Athlon 64 x2 instead, it would perform better than the triple core you selected.
These days you don’t need a sound card, the motherboard’s integrated audio should be fine.
